This article shows you how to create chargeback tags and then associate them with one or more folders.
Typically, one chargeback tag is created for each entity you wish to
track, bill, and manage. These tags will have a monetary value and can
be named however you want, typically by client or project names.
Step 1 -- Navigate to Chargeback
In the HubStor Admin Portal, select 'Chargeback' and then select the 'Chargeback Tags' sub tab.
Step 2 -- Create a Chargeback Tag
There are two methods for creating chargeback tags. You can create tags individually or in bulk.
Add a Single Tag
To create a single tag, within the 'Chargeback Tags' tab, click 'Add Tag'.
This will display a dialog for entering the name for the tag. Provide a name and click 'Apply.'
Your new tag will now display in the list of chargeback tags. Click the expand arrow to see the tag details on the 'General' tab, and provide a name, description (optional), and monetary value to the tag.
Next, click on the 'Locations' tab and click the 'Add Locations' button to select the particular folder(s) or entire Stor you wish to associate with the chargeback tag.
Make sure to click 'Apply' to save any changes you make on a tag.
Add a Tags in Bulk
When you create tags in bulk, you set a common monetary value and
select multiple locations. The tags will generate with the same name as
the folders/locations you select. This option is ideal when you have
project or client data already organized into folders with names that
To create tags in bulk, within the 'Chargeback Tags' tab, click 'Add Bulk Tags'.
This will display a window where you can set the monetary value and
select the folders. Click 'Apply' to create the tags based on your
settings and selection.
With your chargeback tags created, HubStor will automatically
maintain insights on them going forward. You can visit the 'Dashboard'
tab within 'Chargeback' to see insights and projections. In the
'Reports' tab, you can generate reports which can be exported.
Finally, your chargeback tags can be leveraged in policies (indexing,
retention, tagging). You will see 'Include Location Tags' and 'Exclude
Location Tags' as selection criteria available in policies -- these are
your chargeback tags.
